We went really allowed to take photos in the theatre but I snuck a couple in. It's amazing and the play was Fabulous Darlings!!!!!!!

Outside the pub at the front of the Globe Theatre. I was checking on the ferries to go back across the Themes but it was going to be too late and cost just as much as a taxis back the the hotel.
Some people stood for the whole performance whilst others like myself and Mum paid the up grade the experience
Just loved the show

Portsmouth

Thursday 26th of June

An Afternoon in Portsmouth visiting the Mary Rose

This is a view of the Warrior the first Iron Ship made in the 18th Century. This was taken whilst waiting for Sue to join us after dropping off the car. We then went off the visit the exhibition on the Mary Rose, which was retrieved from the depths of the seas of the Solent between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. It was sunk during the battle between the French and the English in the 16th Century.

The Bell that was retrieved in the salvaging of the relic.

This is a view of the reconstruction of what has been salvaged. It has taken 20 years of spraying the wood with a wax like solution to preserve the molecules of the wood so it wouldn't disintegrate. This has been completed and not it is in its drying phase. It will be 2016 before the drying hoses can be taken away and the viewing platforms will be constructed giving an unobstructed view of the skeleton of the ship. Awesome just awesome!!!

The Moulin Rouge

Photo's that didn't come through on the last blog

Off to the Moulin Rouge 20 June

Tonight Mum and I went off to the Moulin Rouge in Paris. It was not too far from our hotel but Mum was not up to walking it so we caught a taxis. We were herded in like cattle to a table right on the edge of a pathway for all the stewards to bring drinks back and forth. Our table was so small but they crammed 6 of us on the table with our bottles of cheap German Sparkling wine. The place was packed to the rafters with people and those who had payed quite handsomely for their meal tickets got the best seats. Mind though I did have a good view from my seat. Once the show started it was incredible i must admit. I thought the dancers were a little lazy and not much energy was being expelled at the start of he show but as the routines followed on they started to look a little better. there were a couple of guys which were second hand but I ca see they were just brought on for their looks alone as they couldn't dance well.

Sitting waiting for the show to start. we couldn't take any pic of the show but we did buy a program, which cost 10 euros, $20 bucks.

Mum and Lita standing outside the Moulin Rouge after the show. It was really busy and getting a cab was crazy. We walked up the road for a while and that is when all hell broke loose as the Columbians had won the football. I drank some Sambuca with a guy as we walked past and then we managed to get a cab. It was difficult with Mum not being able to walk too fast and also she got all mixed up with he way the traffic flows. So I finally flagged one down and we went off to the hotel and collapsed in bed.

I ad been a long day as we had just travelled to Paris that morning, checked into the hotel gone out to have a quick bite to eat and find a bank, got ready and went off to the show.
